Calculation and payment of social allowances and benefits
The National Office of Social Insurance can provide you with relevant information concerning the payment of your social allowances and benefits. Additionally, the Office allows to calculate your projected retirement pension, estimates your retirement age on the basis of your personal state identification number (IDNP) or your personal social security account (CPAS).
Calculation of contribution to the social insurance fund
The National Office of Social Insurance is also responsible for receiving and keeping records of employees and self-employed individuals who are responsible for participating in Moldova’s mandatory social insurance system in order to maintain the yearly social insurance fund. Individuals who do not contribute to Moldova’s social fund may be held liable based on similar rules as failure to pay taxes or failure to pay the medical insurance fee. Since self-employed individuals are not affiliated with the state, they are required by statutory provision to participate and maintain the sustainability of Moldova’s social insurance system in lieu of any employer or other state institution’s responsibility for social insurance of self-employed individuals.
As a rule, employees under labour contracts are not responsible for submitting documents to the National Office of Social Insurance in respect of all matters concerning their social insurance – this is to be done by the employer. However, if you are an employee, you should double check and avail yourself of correct records keeping - both with your employer and the National Office of Social Insurance.
