Founded in 2004, Keystone Moldova is dedicated to defend the rights of people with disabilities.
The mission of Keystone Moldova is to promote and develop opportunities that will be in the form of consultancy services, technical assistance, direct support service, best-practice training, and monetary and administrative supports to further the independence and social inclusion of people who are in need of service due to disabling conditions, situations of poverty, abandonment, institutionalization, and other adverse societal conditions throughout Moldova.

Hotline support service
Keystone Moldova provides toll-free 24/7 hotline support for persons with disabilities available by dialling 080010808 from any phone number registered in Moldova. This hotline was created as a national support service to offer assistance to people with disabilities who need protection, support and information. The hotline number is anonymous, free and confidential and can be accessed from any landline or mobile telephone.
Deinstitutionalization and development of community services
Keystone Moldova aims for social inclusion of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities who have left residential institutions or who have avoided being placed in residential care. In order to achieve this goal the organization conducts the following activities:
- Comprehensive assessment of residential institutions and elaboration of transformation plans
- Assessment of the needs of people with disabilities and their families and the resources available at family and community level; developing recommendations for the inclusion of these people in the family and community
- Mobilization of communities and creating support groups for people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities in difficult situations
- Strengthening of capacities of central and local public authorities in social inclusion of persons with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities
- Development of necessary documents for deinstitutionalization
- Development of inclusive community environment for persons with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities
- Family support services for families with persons with disabilities in difficult situation
Promoting the labour inclusion of persons with disabilities
Keystone Moldova encourages and supports the labour inclusion of persons with disabilities through the following activities:
- Promotion of labour inclusion of persons with disabilities
- Identification and matching of jobs
- Preparing the environment for the employment of persons with disabilities
- Preparing and supporting persons with disabilities during the probation period
- Supporting persons with disabilities in identifying and developing small income generating activities (identifying the type of business and the donor, developing the business plan, organizing the business etc.)
- Involvement of persons with disabilities in small revenue generating activities developed by Eco-Vox Group (production of recyclable bags, material bags etc.).
Self-advocacy and advocacy to promote the rights of people with disabilities
Keystone Moldova encourages the participation of persons with disabilities in promoting their rights and in developing inclusive social policies and practices at national and local level. This is done by self-advocacy of persons with disabilities and advocacy of parents of children with disabilities at national and local levels through the following activities:
- Strengthening the capacities of persons with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities in advocacy and self-advocacy
- Encouraging the participation of persons with disabilities in different advocacy actions at local, national and international levels to promote their rights
- Encouraging the involvement of persons with disabilities in the development of inclusive social policies at national and local levels
- Encouraging the involvement of persons with disabilities in monitoring the progress of the implementation of social inclusive policies at national and local levels
- Promoting the advocacy and self-advocacy movements at national and international level.
